Miami Beach, FL – November 10, 2018 – As part of Faena Rose’s Collectors Series, Rose members Carlos Betancourt & Alberto Latorre welcomed fellow members to their home for an intimate lunch and exclusive look at some of Carlos’s recent artworks, as well as a tour of their eclectic art collection. Carlos’s iconic outdoor pool installation, Golden Pond Wishes (2013) was also on view for this special occasion. Carlos Betancourt and his influential studio, Imperfect Utopia, helped to launch the underground Miami art scene in the 1980s. Celebrated for his lush conceptualism and exquisitely finished works that magically reinterpret the past, Carlos’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian Portrait Gallery, and PAMM, among many others. A solo show of Carlos’s recent works will open at Miami’s Primary Gallery during this year’s Art Basel. Faena Rose is an exclusive, art and culture-based private members club at the Faena District Miami Beach, which brings together its dynamic community of likeminded individuals through a robust, year-round calendar of the most engaging and transformative cultural experiences.
