Miami, FL – August 11, 2018 – Project Ready for School’s 2018 Back to School Bash, gave students uniforms, socks, underwear, backpacks filled with school supplies, and a new book. Students were greeted by Burnie from the Miami Heat and Sebastian from University of Miami and were also given the opportunity to build a pair of book ends by The Home Depot crew. At the bash, students enjoyed the photo booth, bounce house, obstacle course, face painters, and a live DJ. The students helped themselves to treats donated by Gogo Squeez, That’s It, Kind, VitaCoco, Phenomenom Nitrogen Ice Cream & Bake Shop, and many others. Community partners like State Representative Nicholas Duran, Miami-Dade School District 6 Schoo Board Member Mari Tere Rojas, Miami-Dade Public Library, The Children’s Movement of Florida, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, The Home Team Miami, Thelma Gibson Health Initiative, and Feeding South FL were all there in support. The day ended with several raffles where the students won things like backpacks, pencil pouches, and supplies by Yoobi.
