Miami, FL – June 9, 2018 – The first vehicle to bear the Porsche name was recorded on June 8, 1948: It was the 356 Roadster. This is the day on which the Porsche brand was born. The Type 356 turned Ferry Porsche’s dream of a sports car into a reality. The 70th birthday of the brand is an essential reminder of the brand history, heritage and the community of owners and enthusiasts who share in Porsche’s passion. THE COLLECTION Porsche celebrated together with the Miami community for an afternoon of cars, family-friendly food, games, birthday cake and giveaways. As guests arrived, they were greeted by a wrapped Porsche 911. This 911 was THE COLLECTION’s birthday card to Porsche and guests were able to sign and write their birthday wishes and favorite memories. During the event, there was a Social Media contest and the ten most creative photos from the #SportscarTogether celebration were chosen and the winners will received a Porsche Pack filled with surprises. Guests enjoyed games and delicious bites and beverages from the Biergarten. Here, they played games like Jenga and Connect Four while enjoying the view of the infamous Porsche concourse on Aurora Street. Inside the piazza, Pete Diaz Productions was spinning hits throughout the decades from inside a Porsche and B Bistro and Bakery passed around bite sized Panamera Panini’s. The highlight of the event? Everyone united in the Porsche showroom and surrounded the fleet of antique Porsche’s. Together, everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to Porsche with sparklers and enjoyed the delicious birthday cake decorated and modeled after the 358 Speedster. It was great seeing the Porsche community unite with Porsche dealers across the globe to make history together.
