Miami, FL – May 18, 2018 – Close to 700 guests gathered at HistoryMiami Museum for the opening party of its new photography exhibition, “Miami Rocks: The Miami Pop Festival, May 1968.” The exhibition, which runs until September 30, takes a deeper look into Miami Pop Festival, the East Coast’s first rock festival, and “where the seeds of Woodstock were sown.” Decked out in their favorite 1960s outfits, guests enjoyed a live Q and A with photographer Ken Davidoff and Rob Calvert from the Paul Castranovo show on Big 105.9. Then, guests rocked out to a live performance by Jimi Hendrix’s brother, Leon Hendrix, who played several Hendrix classics including Foxy Lady, with members from the Lee Tiger band. Complimentary drinks were flowing thanks to Concrete Beach Brewery and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. For more information on the exhibition, visit historymiami.org.
