Karolína Kurková at Caroline Wozniacki’s Induction to Fisher Island Club’s Tennis Center
Fisher Island, FL – March 19, 2018 – Fresh off her first Grand Slam title in Melbourne at the Australian Open where Caroline Wozniacki defeated Simona Halep in an exciting three set final, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4, Danish tennis champion and World Tennis Association’s current No. 2 ladies player Caroline Wozniacki, was feted at a private champagne reception at Fisher Island Club’s world-class Tennis Center. During the intimate ceremony, which was attended by Wozniacki, her family, and Karolína Kurková, the Club permanently dedicated hard courts 5-6 in honor of the Fisher Island resident. Wozniacki is the second tennis star to have a court at Fisher Island Club named after her. She joins Gardnar Mulloy, the legendary former U.S. No. 1 Men’s doubles player best known for his Davis Cup and Wimbledon championships, who was honored with a court named after him last year. “We are thrilled for Caroline and her father, Piotr, who has served as her coach since joining the WTA tour at age 15, for this amazing accomplishment. The Fisher Island community is excited to welcome her home and be able to honor her at Fisher Island Club with this court dedication,” said Bernard Lackner, Club President & CEO.
