7th Annual Slow Food Miami “Snail of Approval” Tasting Celebration at The Palms Hotel & Spa
Miami Beach, FL – March 16, 2018 – Over 400 ravenous foodies joined an elite group of South Florida’s top chefs for the recent 7th Annual Slow Food Miami “Snail of Approval” Tasting Party. The event, held at The Palms Hotel & Spa, was hosted and emceed by Evan Benn, Editor of Indulge Magazine, who was also a judge along with Victoria Pesce-Elliot (Miami Herald Food Critic) and Olee Fowler (Eater Miami Editor). The evening raised money for Slow Food Miami, the local 100% volunteer non-profit dedicated to “planting a fresher future for our children.” The annual event generated enough funds for 20 new edible gardens throughout the community. This year, the judges selected for the “Best Bite of the Night” award to go to Chef Jeremy Ford of Stubborn Seed with his wildly popular Warm Celery Root with crackling maitake, mustard and spring herbs. The “People’s Choice” was a tie between two local favorites, Stiltsville Fish Bar and No Name Chinese. At the poolside soirée at The Palms Hotel & Spa, Miami’s environmentally conscious chefs lent their talents to raise funds and were in turn celebrated for their “Snail of Approval” recognition, made possible by their contribution to the quality, authenticity and sustainability of our food supply.
