Miami Beach, February 9, 2018 –  Hailed by the Miami New Times as “one of the 10 best music events in 2017,” the GroundUP Music Festival returned to Miami Beach for its 2nd annual festival at North Beach Bandshell. The 2018 festival was hosted by Snarky Puppy, and in addition to GroundUP artists, The Wood Brothers, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones Trio with Victor Wooten & Futureman, Robert Glasper, Jo Jo Mayer/Nerve, Buika, Lionel Loueke, Eliades Ochoa (the great from Buena Vista Social Club), Mark Guiliana, Jamey Haddad, Josh Redman, and other exceptionally talented and diverse artists from all over the world. The festival took place under a full moon next to the ocean and beach with a capacity crowd dancing and cheering as it was announced that festival host Snarky Puppy had just won its 3rd Grammy Award in four years at the Grammy ceremony taking place simultaneously in Los Angeles.  The GroundUP Music Festival will continue to push the envelope on the typical festival experience and break down the barriers between audience and artists with more intimate master classes and workshops and personal interactions with the artists, great local food, and as the Miami Herald cover article declared “a wildly eclectic range of stellar and hard to define artists.” Says 2 time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend David Crosby, “I don’t think you’ll get a better shot at hearing real music than at this festival. It will knock your socks off.”
