VIP Preview of Faena Bazaar Fashion Fair at Faena District Miami Beach
Miami Beach, FL – November 26, 2016 – Alan Faena and Ximena Caminos hosted an intimate cocktail reception for the VIP preview of Faena Bazaar, the signature retail experience at Faena District Miami Beach. Curated in collaboration with Kelly Framel and Zachary Lynd, Faena Bazaar was designed by OMA, the firm founded by Rem Koolhaas. The event was in honor of Pedro Friedeberg, the iconic artist and designer known for his surrealist work and notable “Hand-Chair” piece. Guests meandered through the souk-inspired space, visiting pop-up shops from Henrik Vibskov, Maiyet x Lily Kwong, Sybilla, Anndra Neen, Carolina K, Marane, Edie Parker, Figue, Dezso by Sara Beltran, L’Objet and Maison de Mode, the latter featuring Faena Bazaar-exclusive products by Viktor + Rolf, Edun, Tina Craig x Nouvel Heritage, Cover Swim x Donald Robertson, Bea Valdes and Brother Vellies.
Open to the public through December 4, 2016, Faena Bazaar will host a daily schedule of live music and events, including talks by Faena Art Executive Director Ximena Caminos; architect Shohei Shigematsu; artists Pedro Friedeberg, Mickalene Thomas and Marko Brajovic; designer Henrik Vibskov; and director Hector Harkness. The nine-day event over Miami Art Week takes place on the ground floor of the OMA-designed emporium located at 3400 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, and will feature site-specific installations by artists Pedro Friedeberg, Mickalene Thomas, Yoon Lee and Typoe.
