Nat King Cole Generation Hope Cocktail Reception at Faena
Miami Beach, FL – October 26, 2016 – Nat King Cole Generation Hope hosted an intimate cocktail event at Faena Miami Beach to announce expansion into the Miami community with their music education programs and 5 th annual GENERATIONS Concert. Welcoming guests to the event were Timolin Cole, Co-Founder and President of Nat King Cole Generation Hope; Casey Cole, Co-Founder and Vice-President of Nat King Cole Generation Hope, daughters of the legendary entertainer Nat King Cole; and Rudy and Betsy Perez, Chairs of the spring 2017 GENERATIONS Concert.
Timolin Cole and Casey Cole opened the evening with profound words on their vision to keep their father’s memory alive with Nat King Cole Generation Hope, a 501C3 non-profit organization, which provides music education to children with the greatest need and fewest resources, and for future generations to enjoy the art of music. The crowd enjoyed live jazz throughout the evening performed by Davis and Dow, along with a special performance by fifteen year old prodigy Haven Star who belted the soulful “I’d Rather Go Blind,” written by Sam Moore, who was in attendance, and crooner Louis Amanti, who sang one of Nat King Cole’s greatest hits, L-O- V-E. Guests and supporters indulged on savory bites and enjoyed craft cocktails, courtesy of Bacardi. To continue keeping music alive, Nat King Cole Generation Hope donated three keyboards that evening to the Irie Foundation – a non-profit organization which seeks to empower at-risk youth to lead productive lives through mentoring programs, cultural experiences and scholarship opportunities, along with two guitars to Guitars Over Guns – an art-based mentoring program that works collaboratively with schools and communities, to empower at-risk youth.
