Design Collective & Series Design Pub Premiere in the Miami Design District

Miami, FL – May 12, 2016 – Design Pub investigates the importance of cultural awareness as a foundation for both communication and understanding. Curated by Jessica Acosta-Rubio this selection was both playful and practical and raised questions about the role of design on the macro level–the future of design in Miami and Latin America–and the micro–such as our present, our daily human interactions. Design Pub utilizes aesthetics to bridge a gap, helping viewers develop sensitivity to the cultures that inspired the exhibition design. Design is both the large and small-scale, the nuanced and the clear, and it is consistently omnipresent.

Exhibitors included Bradley Bowers, Casa de Novelas, Deft Union, Giovanni Beltran, Guto Requena, John Gornes, Marcio Decker, Mr. O, Paloma Teppa + Nina Surel, Philip Michael Wolfson, Ryan Hattig, Stone and Rose. Emerging Talent included Comunione, Espiritutara, Nina Gonzalez, Morralitos. Guest Participants included Ann Grim, Fred Rieffel, Leah Ball , Merve Kahraman. Collaborators included Pop Up Mob, Plant The Future, and Tiffany Azmouz + EDGE Collections. Scenography by Amandine Buisson and Jeronimo Tani.
