PAMM Third Thursdays: Poplife Social, Performances & More
Miami, FL – February 18, 2016 – Pérez Art Museum Miami was buzzing with excitement and events. The evening kicked off with a private celebration of Beatriz Santiago Muñoz: A Universe of Fragile Mirrors, which opened that evening in the galleries. Core Creative members mingled with the artist herself and enjoyed cocktails and cigars on the third floor terrace overlooking the city. Inside the museum, visitors watched a performance of Nari Ward’s Ground (In Progress), a floor-based sculpture made from 700 copper-topped bricks adorned with painted geometric symbols drawn from the Underground Railroad directional code. Five local dancers performed and improvised atop Ward’s sculpture using a range of dance styles. Outside on the terrace, visitors jammed out to a live performance by pop, electro funk duo XAXO and let their creativity flow with art-making. PAMM Contemporaries members mingled in the Contempo Lounge and enjoyed complimentary drink by Beck’s Urban Canvas.
