New York, NY – September 14, 2011 – The Blonds Spring 2012 collection runway show presented by Playboy was yet another successful event for Fashion Week 2011 with every color under the sky present. As usual, the duo’s fashion week show included their signature glitzy corsetry work, a bevy of their celebrity clientele cheering from the front row, and their ongoing collaboration with Christian Louboutin. But what makes this season extra special is the partnership between the designers and the brand that’s been a lifelong inspiration – Playboy.

“To us, Playboy has always represented the ultimate in sexiness, femininity, playfulness and over-the-top glamour. When I was younger, my father always had Playboy magazines, and I always thought the models epitomized beauty and sensuality. I even fell in love with the cartoons and animation, like the classic Femlin.  The glamour and sophistication of the Playboy lifestyle and the Playboy Bunny truly inspires our aesthetic,” remembers Phillipe Blond, one half of The Blonds.  His partner David Blond adds, “We are always inspired by Playboy, but this season in particular we are looking back to the glamorous heyday of the Playboy Clubs of the 60s and 70s. We wish we had been around to have seen it firsthand, but we are going to recreate it in our own way at the show!”

Spring 2012 marks their sixth season showing during New York Fashion Week. Since their inception in 2005, The Blonds have become the go to designers for celebrities such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus, Lady GagaNicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Eve, Kim Kardashian, Adam Lambert, Keri Hilson, Sharon Stone, Holly Madison, Iman, and Paris Hilton among others. In 2009, they were awarded the esteemed Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award and were selected to be the main designers of the Vienna Life Ball, one of the largest AIDS charities in the world. Countless editorials featuring their work internationally have been published alongside television appearances on E!, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, MTV, FOX 5, Fashion Television and even as guest judges on America’s Next Top Model.

In addition to the luxe bombshell creations that will be seen on the runway, The Blonds have also collaborated with Playboy to create a Bunny-inspired t-shirt design for Playboy’s new Project Bunny line.  The men’s and women’s t-shirt line includes designs from The Blonds as well as five other designers, and shirts are currently available at www.palmercash.com and select boutiques nationwide.  Proceeds from the Project Bunny line benefit Designers Against AIDS (DAA).  The Blonds’ Project Bunny t-shirt will be gifted to all front-row guests at the spring 2012 collection runway show.
