Miami, FL – June 16, 2015 – Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez, New York Yankees All-Star and fourth on baseball’s all-time home run list, hosted an interactive baseball clinic at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade as a part of his season-long program of visits to Clubs across the nation bringing out 50 children from Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. In addition, 50 children from Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Clubs were also selected to be Rodriguez’s guests at the June 15 Marlins vs. Yankees game at Marlins Park. The children were given the opportunity to meet with Rodriguez before the game. Participants were selected based off of good behavior and conduct. As a child, Rodriguez attended Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Kline Club, where he participated in its baseball program. He flourished at the Club, remaining a member until the day he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He has been a supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade since he signed his first professional baseball contract in 1993.
