Miami, FL – April 24, 2015 – Over 400 guests filled the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts for the 9th Anniversary Gala. The annual affair is always a stellar evening, and this year’s was surely nothing less than spectacular. The Center transformed the Ziff Ballet Opera House into an intimate “supper club” with cocktails, dinner, and dancing directly on the Lynn Wolfson Stage. Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning international superstar Barry Manilow wowed guests with a special tribute to Frank Sinatra in honor of Frank’s 100th birthday. “As an avid supporter of arts education, Mr. Manilow was the perfect choice to grace the stage, as all the money raised by the Gala will be reinvested into the Arsht Center’s robust educational programming,” said Swanee DiMare, chair of the Gala for the third year in a row along with her husband Paul DiMare. Manilow is also a strong believer in the importance of arts education, founding The Manilow Music Project in response to the severe reduction of music programs in public schools. The Project seeks to highlight the importance of music programs through donations of instruments and materials to middle and high schools across the country. Margaret and Mike Eidson joined esteemed philanthropists Swanee and Paul DiMare to form the Gala leadership committee. Adrienne Arsht, the Center’s name benefactor, served as honorary chair.
