Lacoste Surprise Performance Celebrating New Partnership with Miami Open
Miami, FL – April 2, 2015 – To celebrate Lacoste’s inaugural sponsorship at the Miami Open presented by Itau, Lacoste surprised and delighted guests with an incredible performance at the Crandon Park tennis stadium. In order to raise the energy on the court, before Lacoste pro player John Isner went on to beat Kei Nishikori, Amanda Tae Alveraz choreographed a dance inspired by the Lacoste Spring/Summer 2015 campaign. The innovative choreography and spirited movement of the performers really embodied Lacoste’s brand message “Life is a Beautiful Sport,” and the modern interpretation of Rene Lacoste’s joie de vivre and elegance on the tennis court with his motto: “Elegance is Victory.” A combination of talented Capoeira dancers, gymnasts and contemporary dancers helped achieve the elegant movement, as they were dressed wearing the official Lacoste Ball Kid and Linesmen outfits. This included the iconic Lacoste polo shirt silhouette, which Rene Lacoste invented in order to play with maximum freedom of movement on the court. During the performance, the audience included Beryl Lacoste Hamilton, Rene Lacoste’s granddaughter, who cheered from the Lacoste VIP suite.
