Miami, FL – February 6, 2015 – Miami’s classical music buffs made their way to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts to hear the legendary Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by music director Valery Gergiev featuring piano virtuoso, Denis Matsuev. In an all-Russian program, the concert marked as the second concert of the 2014-2015 Knight Masterworks Season – Classical Music Series presented at the Arsht Center’s John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall. Among the major highlights of the evening was the Arsht Center debut of Tchaikovsky Competition winner Matsuev in Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky’s beloved Piano Concerto No. 2 in G major. The program also features the monumental orchestral arrangement of Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Rodion Shchedrin’s Concerto for Orchestra No. 1 “Naughty Little Limericks.”
