Citi Bike Miami Launch at Bayfront Park
Miami, FL – December 13, 2014 – In October, Citi and DECOBIKE announced that Miami’s popular bike share program would be rebranded as Citi Bike and would expand to Downtown Miami. Well, the wait is finally over and to celebrate the launch of the expanded Citi Bike program, Citi hosted an arts-filled community fete on Saturday afternoon at Bayfront Park. The fete featured a live mural painting by local artist Jessy Nite and a Helmet Giveaway featuring a chance to win custom painted helmet by the TM Sisters, delicious bites by Gigi’s, Panther Coffee, Freshii, Kryogenifex, and Ms.Cheezious, live performances by Afrobeta and killer sets from Miami DJs Lolo, Laura of Miami, and Tony G. The launch event gave guests opportunities to test ride the new bikes including a street skills bike course with Miami-themed obstacles including a Car2Go and a Ride to the PAMM led by the Miami Bike Scene. If guests brought their own bikes there was complimentary Bike Valet provided by The Green Mobility Network. Guests were informed about Bike Safety from Bike Safe Miami and the fitness benefits of biking by David Barton Gym. What a way to meet the Bike!
