Miami Beach, FL – December 2, 2014 – Tuesday evening marked the much-awaited launch for The Miami Beach EDITION, hosted by the brand visionary himself Ian Schrager and Luxury US fashion title W Magazine editor in chief, Stefano Tonchi. The evening celebrated both the premier of the hotel and W:Art. Guests were invited for an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing which took over all of the public spaces in the new hotel which is also a brand partnership with Marriott. After arrival drinks with Absolut vodka, guests toasted to the annual Art Basel Miami fair with a delicious dinner in the Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant, The Matador Room. Another influx of guests arrived post dinner to experience British musician Blood Orange, who wowed the crowd with his melodic indie disco pop in the beautifully landscaped Havana-inspired Tropicale area. The vivacious disco dancers could be found in the hotels’ basement nightclub- a modern day version of Schrager’s Studio 54 where world famous DJ Harvey had revelers dancing until 5am, which was co-hosted by Parisian night owls, Silencio. VIP guests included hosts Ian Schrager, Stefano Tonchi and a mix of influencers in art, music and fashion including Linda Evangelista, Vera Wang, Ann Dexter Jones, Lola Montes Schnabel, Marina Abramovic, David Schwimmer, Rachel Lehmann and more.
