Specializing in the highest level of quality and service, SARTORIAL brings a new level of sophistication to Miami’s menswear scene. The specialty multi-brand boutique, which opened this month in Miami’s bustling Design District, offers a distinctive selection of menswear – from sophisticated casual and daytime sportswear to classic formalwear – collected from the most influential and forward-thinking Italian manufacturers. SARTORIAL was founded on a simple premise – to provide a personalized luxury shopping experience to gentlemen with discerning taste. The carefully-edited selection of luxury menswear stays true to SARTORIAL’s unifying theme of authentic Italian style and craftsmanship. The offerings include ultra-fine cashmere polos; limited-edition Jacob Cohen denim; Kiton, Castangia and Pal Zileri suits and jackets; hand sewn Marol and Luigi Borrelli shirts; Borsalino hats; as well as shoe collections and accessories, featuring crocodile and leather detailing, from brands including Cesare Paciotti, Sergio Rossi, A.Testoni, Santoni and Barrett. The ultimate destination for every menswear connoisseur, SARTORIAL also features a shoe salon, as well as a private made-to-measure area for custom suits, with shirts and shoes expected to follow in the next season.

Born and raised in Russia, owners Julia and Tamara Medvedeva grew up in the luxury retail business and realized an affinity for high-end fashion at a young age. Entrenched in the industry from day one, both their passion for fashion and education in retail management grew with their travels around the globe. Eventually, their keen eye for high-end, sophisticated style drew them to Miami where they are able to fill a void and make their mark in the luxury menswear market. With SARTORIAL, Tamara and Julia bring a lifetime of fashion experience to the Design District.

WRE: What drove you to open SARTORIAL in the Design District?

Julia & Tamara: The Design District drew our attention several years ago, during a leisure trip to Miami, with all of the projects planned to be materialized in this vibrant new area. We love the energy and rising potential here and believe that SARTORIAL will add to the fresh, cultured vibe of the Design District.

WRE: What is the meaning behind the name?

Julia & Tamara: The name SARTORIAL implies the superior level of tailoring in our merchandise, the finest quality of fabrics offered and our superior attention to details. While we were working on our concept, the name had evolved quite naturally, as “sartorial” was probably the most commonly used adjective in our discussions. So naturally, we started calling it “the sartorial project.”  We then decided to name it SARTORIAL because we wanted that line of thinking to continue throughout the design of the store, as well as the top notch customer care that we provide.

WRE: What makes your store so unique?

Julia & Tamara: We offer only an exclusive and carefully-edited brand assortment of exceptionally tailored clothing, made by the best Italian manufacturers. We source our merchandise only from the “manufacturing brands” – cashmere at the factories specializing in cashmere, denim at the denim ones etc. For instance, Pal Zileri is a brand known for its suit craftsmanship, producing suits for many world-wide known brands in the world.

WRE: What kind of ambiance should clients expect?

Julia & Tamara: A warm and welcoming, yet energetic and elegant vibe. The design has a vibrant, contemporary feel with luxury apparel on tiger wood shelving, backed with frosted colored glass and massive chandeliers hanging at the 20-ft height. In order promote the Italian spirit, we used only Italian-produced equipment. All the furniture and displays are made in Italy. The building itself is from the “new era” of construction in the Design District and will have an impressive, almost 45-foot tall glass façade.

WRE: What type of experience do you aim to create with SARTORIAL?

Julia & Tamara: SARTORIAL is envisioned as a multi-brand luxury destination dedicated solely to menswear. Think of it as a menswear department at a major high-end department store, but instead of quantity, you will find more quality. We aim to create a unique experience throughout the entire visit to SARTORIAL, with the ultimate goal of becoming the shopping hot-spot among the style elite.
