Coral Gables, FL – July 31, 2014 – The incredible thing about delicious food, other than the taste of course, is that it has a way of bringing people together. This is something that chef anchor Cindy Hutson and her partner Delius Shirley clearly have quite the knack for. On Thursday evening, the dynamic duo celebrated the 15 Year Anniversary of their famed Caribbean restaurant, Ortanique on the Mile, by bringing out over 90 of their supportive fans for a lavish wine dinner with Darioush Winery to thank the community for their many years of success. The special evening commenced with a champagne reception and passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by a savory five course menu curated by Cindy paired with varietals from Darioush Winery. “Delius and I were ecstatic to have such a great turn out; we’ve had a devoted loyal customers over the past 15 years that have become part of our Ortanique family and we have become apart of theirs” exclaims Hutson.

What makes Ortanique on the Mile’s cuisine stand out from the rest is that Hutson makes a point to capture the mouth-watering flavors of the tropics with what she aptly describes as “Cuisine of the Sun”. “When I had the opportunity to pair my creations with the delicious wine portfolio of Darioush, it made the night even more special,” says Hutson, “I have been a fan of these wines for quite some time and I knew I could create a dinner to complement them and raise a glass of cheers in celebration of being 15 years ‘young’.” The best part of the night was that all the good eating was for a great cause as the sold out fete donated proceeds of ticket sales to United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida and Baptist Health Breast Center.
