Miami Beach, FL – July 19 – 21, 2014 – Miami Beach was sizzling with hot bods and even hotter beachwear as Cabana returned for it’s second edition last week during the famed Miami Swim Week. Back and bigger than ever, Cabana brought the best in swim and resort wear brands back to the beach doubling in size with approximately 90 of the best brands in the market, all showcased in two white tents along Collin’s Park. What sets Cabana apart from the rest is that it is merchandised in a way that emulates the experience of an upscale retailer, which something very different than any other typical tradeshow. Focusing on attendee experience and thoughtful brand selection, Cabana showcases the best of the swimwear market today.

Multiple brands launched their wholesale business at Cabana this season including Ward Whillas. The unique new line has created a thread-free, heat-sealed swimwear collection utilizing compression fabrics to soften the transitions from swimsuit to body, sculpting sleeker, more flattering silhouettes without the bulky seams of traditionally constructed swimwear. Seilenna, another debut collection, focuses on diverse pieces sold separately allowing women to use the “Mix & Match” function across all of the collections to create their perfect suit. “Discovering new talent in the beachwear market is definitely part of Cabana’s DNA” says Janet Wong, founder of Cabana, “As a retailer, I know how difficult it can be to find new designers so I’m very excited to bring these brands to market and give buyers the experience of discovery.” This years returning designers included Basta Surf, Faherty Brand, Lem Lem, Lisa Marie Fernandez, Mara Hoffman, Orlebar Brown, Tori Praver and Tkees to name a few.

Adding the perfect touch to the ultimate experience, guests were also able to snag some fabulous items including beach inspired totes as well as Flash Tats, a new jewelry inspired temporary tattoo brand, filled with fun designs in metallic silver and gold. Fortunately, guests were able to beat the heat and cool off with delicious coconut water Coconut Cartel and refreshing water from Icelandic.

Discovering new talent in the beachwear market is definitely part of Cabana’s DNA. As a retailer, I know how difficult it can be to find new designers so I’m very excited to bring these brands to market and give buyers the experience of discovery.
