I Have Seen the Future: Norman Bel Geddes Designs America Members Preview at The Wolfsonian-FIU
Miami, FL – June 26, 2014 – On Thursday evening, Miami’s art aficionados came out to the Wolfsonian–FIU for a members preview of the latest and greatest exhibit to hit the museum, I Have Seen the Future: Norman Bel Geddes Designs America, which is a comprehensive look at Bel Geddes’ work and legacy. Stunning drawings, futuristic models, iconic objects, and epic photographs, seminal American designer Norman Bel Geddes has conveyed a transformative vision of America as a nation focused on the future. After browsing the beautiful and thought provoking exhibition, guests enjoyed an original activity series where they participated in an interactive building station; creating pen letters describing their hopes, dreams and visions of the future. Attendees were also able to capture the true Bel Geddes experience with a unique photo op. This exhibition seems to be a perfect fit for The Wolfsonian–FIU as it naturally aligns with the museum’s core mission to examine and reveal the persuasive power of art and design to define the modern world, how we shape our ideas about ourselves, and the creation of compelling visions of the future.
