Miami, FL – May 7, 2014 – On Wednesday evening, the South Florida After-School All-Stars (SFASAS) hosted its annual Stars for Life Benefit gala at the LMNT Gallery. The fundraising benefit was to celebrate and recognize outstanding individuals who support our community’s youth. Reaching 17 middle schools and providing more than 2000 at-risk, low income children with free after-school programming throughout Miami-Dade County, SFASAS provides children with a safe and nurturing environment to grow into confident, educated adults. The soiree hosted by Emmy Award Winning news anchor, Cynthia Demos of CBS4 Miami, drew in a crowd of more than 200 guests and highlighted special invited honorees including the Miami Heat’s Official DJ and Irie Foundation President DJ Irie, Agency 21 President Allen Furst, Pediratric Neurologist Dr. Elza Vasconcellos, Fox Sports Florida’s Eric Esteban and life-long supporters of The Marian Center School, Maria and Tom Fogarty. Guests were treated to a special performance by three-time Grammy Award winner Archie Peña and the Miami Heat Rhythm Section.
