Miami, FL – March 15, 2014 – Mandarin Oriental, Miami hosted its 2nd Annual Hotel Charity Softball tournament on Saturday afternoon at Tropical Park to benefit His House Children’s Home, a local foster care agency providing safety and healing for abused, neglected and abandoned children. A group of 12 Miami hotels participated and went to bat against Mandarin Oriental’s top players in hour-long games throughout the day. Up to eight teams played every hour, making the event one of the largest collective gatherings of hotels in Miami. Entry fees paid by participating hotels were matched by Mandarin Oriental to purchase a 12-passenger van that will make transportation accessible for underprivileged children attending His House Academy. Currently, transportation is either inaccessible or costly, discouraging guardians and children from participating in quality educational programs. Participating hotels included Mandarin Oriental, Miami, Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club, Trump National Doral, Viceroy, Kimpton Hotels, The Biltmore, Hyatt Regency Miami, Four Seasons Hotel, Canyon Ranch Hotel and Spa, Intercontinental, MDM Hotel Group and St. Regis.
