Miami, FL – October 10, 2013 – Kids, an odyssey and rock ‘n’ roll all combined at Adrienne Arsht Center for a new take on an old classic. Now in its fifth season, Rock Odyssey, the modern interpretation of Homer’s Odyssey turned rock musical, took over the Arsht with 25,000 fifth grade students from local schools enjoying the show. The flagship program Rock Odyssey, in conjunction with the Center’s Learning Through the Arts education initiative, was created in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and is supported by Wells Fargo. A mix of ancient Greek drama and Broadway magic, the show featured special effects, oversized puppets and an original score, all geared toward fifth graders,10,000 of which have been entertained since the initiative’s inception.
