Spice it Up
Miami Beach, FL – September 18, 2013 – Attention foodies, there are less than two weeks left in Miami Spice Month, which means it’s time to go out for lunch and dinner. From now until September 30, savor epic culinary delights at Miami’s best restaurants as they offer three-course meals ranging from $19 and $23 (lunch) to $33 and $39 (dinner). From one end of Miami Beach to the other, we’ve rounded up the dishes we find the most appetizing. Feast your eyes and belly on these:
Bâoli Miami
Situated on Collins Ave., Bâoli Miami, the restaurant that fuses recipes from France, Italy and Spain with a touch of the Orient, is dishing up a luxury dinner menu ($39). Of the appetizer options, we suggest the duck confit spring roll with truffle balsamic and white miso lime sauce, the black truffle risotto for your entrée and the warm chocolate fondant for dessert. Add wine for maximum enjoyment.
Bâoli is located at 1906 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.
Katsuya by Starck
Located at the SLS in Miami Beach and helmed by Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi, Katsuya is the “it” spot for sushi. Opt for the salmon tataki with Japanese mushroom salsa and yuzu kosho sauce. Savor the yaki soba noodles for your main course. And save room for homemade donuts with passion fruit caramel with sea salt and coconut topping for dessert. All at the bargain price of $39.
Katsuya is located at 1701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.
Villa Azur
If you’re craving French Mediterranean with an Italian twist, head to the South Beach spot, Villa Azur, for tomato tartar with mozzarella cream and chicken supreme with toasted potatoes. Cap off the night with a decadent tout chocolate from Executive Pastry Chef Sebastien Feneyrol. Like all the meals on the menu this month, this Miami Spice luxury dinner will run you $39.
Villa Azur is located at 309 23rd St., Miami Beach.
The Forge Restaurant & Wine Bar
If you haven’t already, head to the Miami Beach institution The Forge for a $39 feast, including an appetizer of steamed mussles and diced lobster, a grilled creek stone farms filet mignon entrée and flourless chocolate torte with butterscotch sauce. The decadent white setting is as much a meal for the eyes as the food is for the soul.
The Forge is located at 432 41st St., Miami Beach
Scarpetta
The Fontainebleau’s answer to Italian brings the flavors of the boot-shaped country to life in the form of appetizers like mozzarella in carrozza with stewed baby tomatoes and diver sea scallops. Be sure to save room for the polenta-crusted cheesecake with strawberries and strawberry sorbet, all courtesy of chef Nina Compton at Scarpetta.
