Miami Beach, FL – July 19, 2013 – Friday, Bass Museum of Art presented temporary contemporary artist Kevin Arrow’s film production of Gianni Versace and a special performance by Gavin Perry and Beatriz Monteavaro, together known as Holly Hunt. The short film Gianni Versace is an exercise is uniting two disparate sources; the event of demolishing a landmark piece of Miami Beach architecture with the historic recording of a seminal Miami Beach rock band. Holly Hunt, a two-piece instrumental band from South Florida. Drummer Beatriz Monteavaro (Floor, Cavity) and guitarist Gavin Perry captured the meditative power of repetition; the ecstatic joy of tempered variation; infinitely undulating riffage; psychedelic drone paired with rock n’ roll rhythm. During this presentation the Bass Museum of Art formally announced to the Miami community the appointment of José Carlos Diaz as the new Curator of Exhibitions.
