Miami Beach, FL – December 3, 2010 – Miami Heat forward, Chris Bosh, paid a visit to Norland Middle School yesterday as the After-School All-Stars‘ newest ambassador. Bosh met with the students and participated in a special Q&A session with them. Founded by Governor Schwarzenegger in 1992, the charity provides year-round, after school programs for children, including academic support, enrichment opportunities and health/fitness activities. Their goal? To ensure the safety of the children and help them to succeed in their academics and in life. Since 2009, After-School All-Stars has partnered up with NBA players through the program, Hoop Heroes to raise funds. Bosh’s teammates, LeBron James and Mike Miller are also involved with the organization. As ambassador, Bosh will help spread awareness of the need for after-school programs for students nationwide. Bosh has also agreed to donate $20 for every rebound he makes during the NBA’s regular season.
