Schick’s Prune for June
Miami Beach, FL – June 5, 2013 – Schick Quattro for Women kicked off their Prune for June summer style campaign with a fashionably fabulous party on Wednesday evening at Soho Beach House‘s swanky rooftop penthouse. The night featured celebrity fashion stylist Rachael Russell and her local nonprofit Style Saves, which is a small group of young professionals who raise funds to provide underprivileged students with brand new outfits for back-to-school. Schick Quattro for Women’s new TrimStyle razor gives a whole new meaning to summer and has developed five unique trimstyles for your best bikini look, with a complete look developed by Russell and other stylists for each: Landing Strip, Heart Breaker, Stargazer, Bare-Muda Triangle, and the Flash. There’s even a contest going on where you create your own Pinterest board inspired by one of the styles for a chance to win $2,500 in clothes and accessories hand-picked by the stylists. World Red Eye chatted with Russell about the exciting summer campaign with Schick, her fundraiser Style Saves, and the hottest trends this summer.
“What’s a better girl’s accessory than a hot, stylish guy? A lot of these styles translate to men as well because they need to look good too. The Crasqi swim trunks are perfect for this summer.”
“The way that I translated these categories was into trends of the season. For instance, the Bare-Muda Triangle is all about the Bermuda short which is really trendy this summer. Chloé is doing a great one. It’s about the woman who’s not afraid to take risks and is really confident in the way she looks.”
“The Flash, to me, is about crazy prints- being printed, loud, and adding in pops of color with neon or geometric jewelry.”
“The Heart Breaker is as flirtatious as it is fun, and what’s more fun than a crop top and showing some mid drift? I’m a sucker for those looks right now.”
“The Landing Strip I translated into bold stripes. Big, bold stripes are very heavy on the runways this season. Everyone from TopShop to Tom Ford is putting them out.”
“The Stargazer is very ethereal, whimsical, and romantic, so I used flowy caftans and muted colors.”
“These are just teasers of some of the looks that will be shown on July 19 at the third annual Style Saves charity fashion show at Soho Beach House presented by Schick Quattro TrimStyle. We’re also really excited to be a part of the launch of the new swimwear tradeshow Cabana, as well as showing looks from Atrium and Crasqi. Cabana is taking a lot of the cool brands out of the [Miami Beach] Convention Center and doing a pop-up on the beach. It’ll be very concentrated, with a lot of trendy lines like Mara Hoffman. I’m really looking forward to what they’re putting together because it’s going to be very cool.”
“We were working with InHouse Ideas on the third annual summer fashion show. They presented us with the idea to partner with Schick, and we jumped at the opportunity.”
“The really cool thing about the razor is that it has three different trim settings- close, medium, and long- so you can really prune for your June.”
