6th Annual Nautica South Beach Triathlon

Miami Beach, FL – April 7, 2013 – Sunday morning at the crack of dawn had thousands of athletes lined up on Ocean Drive for the sixth annual Nautica South Beach Triathlon. Celebrities, professional triathletes, and local athletes all started stretching at Lummus Park for the big run, bike, and swim event on South Beach. World Red Eye was thrilled to be there with everyone before dawn to capture all the sweat and competition for the sixth year in a row. The two drool-worthy actors James Marsden and Geoff Stults returned for their third year, while other hunky actors made their triathlon debut like Cougartown‘s Josh Hopkins, Days of Our Lives‘ Greg Ellis, and All My Children‘s Colin Egglesfield. Even some younger actors gave their shot at the course, like E! News correspondent Jason Kennedy and High School Musical‘s Monique Coleman. The national anthem was belted out by actress and Broadway singer Laura Bell Bundy, while Dancing With The Stars host Samantha Harris presented the medals and checks to the winners. Stults, Marsden, and Egglesfield were one relay team for the half mile swim, 19 mile bike, and four mile run, while Greg Ellis was the only celebrity to do all three himself- a huge accomplishment! The race went well into the morning as the sun came up and tons of fans and families came to cheer everyone on the sidelines. This year’s triathlon raised over $400,00 for pediatric cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
