Flashback: Nautica Triathlon
Miami Beach, FL – April 4, 2013 – For the sixth year in a row, World Red Eye is photographing the Nautica South Beach Triathlon. The annual race has taken over Miami Beach every April since 2008, and we’ve been there with the celebrities and athletes every step of the way. This year’s race will be this Sunday, April 7, before the sun comes up at 5:30am. WRE will be right there capturing all the action as the gun fires and everyone sets off for the big race. A portion of the proceeds go directly to pediatric cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which has raised more than $1 million to date. Each year, celebrities, triathletes, and spectators gather on Ocean Drive to see who will be there and finish first.
Actors James Marsden and Geoff Stults, Carolina Panthers player DeAngello Williams, and winner of The Biggest Loser Ali Vincent have been coming back to compete over the years, with new celebrities coming out each year as well. Tennis pro Anna Kournikova participated two years in a row in 2008 and 2009, and actress Eliza Dushku did it in 2010. You never know who will show up, but we do know that this year’s host will be TV personality and host Samantha Harris, with James Marsden and Geoff Stults making a return, along with Josh Hopkins, and Christian de la Fuente.
