Miami, FL – March 14, 2013 – The Flamenco Festival Miami just returned for its sixth season. The fact that the four day festival coincides with the 500th anniversary of Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon’s arrival in Florida just makes it all the more significant. Coming straight from where flamenco (and Ponce de Leon) was born, the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucia brought its world-class Spanish flamenco dance and music right to the heart of Miami at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the first time. From March 14 to 17, the Ziff Ballet Opera House held 19 of the world’s fiercest flamenco dancers with live guitar, percussion, and vocals for their nightly performance of Metáfora.
