Miami Beach, FL – January 8, 2025 – Miami’s celebrated Peruvian gem, La Mar by Gastón Acurio, is moving to a fresh location in Brickell by late 2025.

The award-winning restaurant, known for its vibrant Peruvian flavors and signature ceviches, will relocate to 1451 South Miami Avenue, just a mile from its current home at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami, which is set to close for redevelopment.

The new space, designed by the acclaimed DesignAgency, will offer a modernized dining experience while preserving La Mar’s authentic soul. Led by Chef Diego Oka, La Mar has become a cornerstone of Miami’s culinary scene, praised by the MICHELIN Guide and named the Best Peruvian Restaurant in the U.S. by El Comercio.

The move marks an exciting new chapter for La Mar, as it continues its mission of showcasing Peru’s rich culinary traditions in a refreshed setting, while deepening its connection with Miami’s diverse dining community.

Meanwhile, the Mandarin Oriental will close on May 31st for a major redevelopment, reopening in 2030 with new resort towers and restaurants, ensuring Brickell continues to shine as a culinary and hospitality hub.
