Miami Beach, FL – November 4, 2024 – Colombian nightlife and culinary icon Andrés Carne de Res has officially brought its vibrant energy to Miami Beach.

Andrés Carne de Res, a beloved Colombian restaurant known for its lively transformation into a party scene each evening, has opened its first U.S. location on Lincoln Road. “Andrés Carne de Res embodies the heart and spirit of our Colombian culture —  It goes beyond a place to eat, it’s an immersive experience celebrating our traditions through colorful decor, live music, and an atmosphere filled with energy and joy,” shares owner John Paul Laverde.

Spanning four floors with a 400-seat capacity, this Miami outpost offers a mix of dining and entertainment, featuring a main dining room, rooftop terrace, and even a dedicated takeout area. The menu includes Colombian classics like lomo al trapo (beef tenderloin wrapped in cloth and charred) and Caribbean-style shrimp ceviche, alongside traditional arepas and empanadas.

True to its roots, the Miami Andrés Carne de Res brings the same festive atmosphere as its Colombian counterparts, complete with stilt walkers, live cumbia and salsa music, and spontaneous dance performances.

“The rooftop terrace at Andrés Carne de Res Miami serves as a colorful retreat adorned with Colombian decor, offering stunning Miami Beach views,” Laverde continues. “This vibrant space combines relaxation with energy, creating the perfect spot to enjoy the lively ambiance and spirited design that make Andrés Carne de Res so unique.” The interior showcases Colombian craftsmanship, with hand-painted murals and colorful decor, honoring the restaurant’s legacy that began as a small roadside eatery in Chía, Colombia, over 40 years ago.

From the Caribbean coast, guests can enjoy a variety of seafood such as ceviches, octopus, fish, and mollusks. Our Andean specialties include the hearty Ajiaco Soup, accompanied by white rice and avocado; the unique Lomo al Trapo, a tender and perfectly charred cloth-wrapped beef tenderloin that’s a true taste of tradition; and our popular Chicharron and Papas Criollas.

Guests can try a range of Empanadas stuffed with chicken, beef, and vegetarian options, as well as Arepas, served with toppings like mozzarella cheese, suero costeño sauce, or avocado.

For a taste of Colombian street food, we offer a variety of burgers for meat lovers and we have vegetarian options as well. The Choripán is also a delicious sandwich made with chorizo, mozzarella, and chimichurri. Our menu also includes savory grill options like Picanha, Churrasco, and the bold Chuletón de Res (beef ribeye), capturing the spirit of Colombian asado.

WRE: What are some of the signature dishes diners should definitely try?

JPL: Our guests are welcome to try some of our signature Colombian dishes. We recommend starting with the Patacones con Hogao, these are green plantains topped with a delicious Colombian creole sauce, or our Empanada, made with beef, chicken, and cheese fillings, and each brings an authentic taste of Colombia’s street food.

For main dishes, the Lomo al Trapo is an absolute must; this unique beef tenderloin is wrapped in cloth and grilled, giving it a smoky flavor and tender unique texture. Our Ajiaco con Pollo, a traditional chicken and potato soup from the Andes, is another classic, served with rice and avocado on the side for a comforting, flavorful experience.

Seafood lovers should try the Encocado de Camarones, a creamy coconut shrimp dish inspired by Colombia’s coastal flavors, or the Ceviche de Camarón Caribeño, a refreshing shrimp ceviche paired with crispy patacón. For a taste of the grill, our juicy Churrasco and rich Picanha bring out the best of the Asado colombiano.
