WRE News: Wynwood’s Last Independent Brewery, J. Wakefield Brewing, to Close This Fall

Miami, FL – August 6, 2024 – Wynwood’s final independent brewery, J. Wakefield, is closing its doors this fall due to the neighborhood’s increasing upscale transformation.

Opened in 2015, J. Wakefield Brewing announced their closure, expressing heartfelt gratitude to patrons and staff while planning a relocation. Known for its vibrant “Star Wars” murals and unique flavors like DFPF and Miami Madness, the brewery’s last weekend will be Oct. 26-27.

This marks the fourth brewery closure in Miami-Dade County this year, highlighting a challenging period for the local craft beer scene.
