Miami Beach, FL – June 13, 2024 – New renderings have been filed for the 41st Street Corridor Revitalization Project in Miami Beach.

The Miami Beach Design Review Board is set for a hearing on July 2nd to review the updated proposal, which has been revised following feedback from FDOT. The project, part of a General Obligation Bond under GOB Project #40, aims to enhance pedestrian mobility, safety, and community aesthetics along the significant entry corridor of 41st Street.

Key elements include landscape improvements with native shade trees, hardscape enhancements featuring ADA-compliant branded pavement and “oasis” plazas, integrated lighting, and upgraded site furniture, all designed to create a vibrant and inviting streetscape.
Changes from the previous design submission include the removal of large pedestrian crosswalks and lighting adjustments within the oasis features.

The revised plan focuses on enhancing the pedestrian experience without altering subsurface utilities or traffic patterns, while also addressing sea level rise and urban heat island effects through resilient landscaping and reflective materials. The project spans the 41st Street Corridor between Alton Road and Pine Tree Drive, with the aim of creating a unique sense of place that reflects the character of Miami Beach’s Mid-Beach community.
