Miami, FL – April 4, 2024 – De la Cruz Collection has closed its doors in the Miami Design District after the passing of its patron, Rosa de la Cruz, with Artnet reporting that Christie’s will auction off the entire collection, valued at $30 million. The decision to auction off the collection, housed in the 30,000-square-foot space, part of the family’s estate planning, follows Rosa de la Cruz’s death at 81. The family, known for supporting local artists and institutions, may see its significant contemporary art collection dispersed, sparking questions about the future of art patronage in Miami.
