Miami Beach, FL – February 23, 2024 – Zaytinya at the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach is new. It’s owned by the chef of chefs – Jose Andres. SoBe outpost is his latest Zaytina. Alon Shaya is Chef-Partner of Pomegranate Hospitality, which includes Saba in New Orleans, Safta in Denver, and both Miss River and Chandelier Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans. Born in Israel, raised in Philadelphia, and a proud New Orleanian, Alon has a deep love and appreciation for food and the singular way restaurants anchor their communities. James Beard Award winning chef and restaurateur Michael White’s resume is top shelf. White’s journey of chef gigs has included Head Chef and Owner of the Altamarea Group (Marea, Ai Fiori, Vaucluse and others), reopening Times Square Lambs Club, overseeing the kitchen in Miami at Lido Restaurant and Champagne Bar at the Surf Club in the Four Seasons, executive chef at The Standard in Los Angeles and – he’s currently working on opening a new restaurant at 520 Madison Avenue in NYC. Michael Costa is the concept chef at Zaytinya, working alongside chef José Andrés. They offer an innovative mezze menu inspired by Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese cuisines, served up in a sleek and modern setting. Michael’s culinary journey started in Dallas, TX, where he enrolled in culinary school at El Centro College and worked his way through the ranks, making his mark in Washington, DC, and ultimately joining the culinary excellence program at Zaytinya in Miami Beach.
