Hollywood, FL – November 2, 2023 – Seminole Tribe leaders have unveiled plans to introduce in-person sports betting at their Florida casinos in December, marking the initial phase of a potential gambling expansion in the state. Although the compact permits statewide sports betting, the tribe is taking a more limited approach initially, focusing on their six Florida facilities. The Seminole Tribe and Hardr Rock Hollywood plan to celebrate the launch of sports betting, craps, and roulette with star-studded events next month, starting on December 7 at their South Florida casinos. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa will join on December 8, followed by the casinos in Immokalee and Brighton on December 11. This move is anticipated to create over 1,000 new jobs and boost tourism and revenue in Florida, according to Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and chairman of Hard Rock International. In addition to sports betting, the agreement allowed the Seminoles to add craps and roulette at their casinos and included the option to open three more casinos in Broward County, with the tribe pledging to pay the state at least $2.5 billion over the first five years.
