Miami Race for Inclusion Kick-off Event at Gekkō

Miami, FL – October 12, 2023 – On Thursday, Gekkō , the renowned Brickell restaurant, rolled out the red carpet, welcoming Special Olympics Florida supporters and athletes for a special event that marked the commencement of the Race for Inclusion. This statewide campaign aims to foster a world of inclusion and acceptance.

Gekko’s elegant ambiance provided the perfect setting for community leaders and corporate partners to come together, mingling while savoring Gekko’s renowned sushi, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and craft beers courtesy of Veza Sur and Wynwood Brewery.

Ron Goncalves, President and General Manager of Florida for Nomi Health – Gold Sponsor of the Miami Race for Inclusion, welcomed the attendees. In a heartwarming moment, Special Olympics Florida also presented the Family of the Year award to the Alvarez family, recognizing their exceptional contributions and commitment over the past 10 years. The Race for Inclusion will take place on December 6 at Bayfront Park.
