Miami Beach, FL – October 9, 2023 – The Greater Miami Jewish Federation has launched an Israel Emergency Fund in response to the recent Hamas attacks on Israel, which have led to widespread casualties and displacement. The attacks, denounced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have escalated into a state of war, causing shock and concern among the Jewish community. Jacob Solomon, the president and CEO of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, expressed their deep concern, stating, “We awoke to the shocking news that Israel is at war.” Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, the Federation is collaborating with overseas partners and mobilizing resources to support victims of terror and their families. The fund’s primary objectives include providing relief for affected families, offering counseling for traumatized citizens, and ensuring essential supplies like food reach elderly and homebound Israelis.
