WRE News: Lolita the Whale Dies from Renal Failure at Miami Seaquarium

Miami, FL – August 18, 2023 – Just as Lolita was getting ready to be transported back to her home waters, the beloved killer whale has passed away from renal failure. After living at least 57 years, making her the the oldest killer whale living in captivity, Miami Seaquarium reported Lolita’s passing after showing “serious signs of discomfort” over the past two days.
