Miami Beach, FL -From rising seas to extreme heat, Miami-Dade County’s innovative climate strategy goes up against the elemnets.

From the Office of  Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County’s climate action strategy is broken down into five major parts: Going electric, building resilience, protecting the bay and our drinking water, combatting extreme heat, and getting to zero waste. The strategies include building one of the largest electric public transit fleets in the nation, to go fully electric by 2030, protecting residents from extreme heat through tree planting and energy-efficient air conditioning in public housing, and taking steps to ban fertilizers and prevent illegal dumping in and around Biscayne Bay.
