Out of the Kitchen South Florida Serve Up a Winning Recipe Fundraising for a Diabetes Cure Supporting the Diabetes Research Institute

Miami, FL – April 23, 2023 – The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation’s annual and hotly anticipated Out of the Kitchen fundraiser returned on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood. Known for an unmatched annual lineup of South Florida top chefs, the event was a must for any serious foodie, wine connoisseur, and supporter of finding a diabetes cure. By attending Out of the Kitchen – South Florida, guests were not only supporting the DRI’s mission to find a cure, but also providing vital funding for the Institute’s researchers to continue their progress towards this goal. The night’s impressive fundraising total of nearly $350,000 is a testament to the generosity and commitment of all who attended with all proceeds benefiting the cure-focused work of the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation’s Out of the Kitchen – South Florida fundraiser not only treated guests to an unforgettable culinary experience, but also provided an opportunity to learn about the advancements being made in diabetes research. Dr. Matthias von Herrath, the DRI Scientific Director, spoke at the event, sharing with attendees the latest breakthroughs in the quest to find a biological cure for diabetes.
