WRE News: Miami Open Finals Start this Weekend

Miami, FL – April 1, 2023 – Love, set, match! Miami Open hits full swing moving into the finals this weekend, with women’s final today at 1pm and men’s final tomorrow at 1pm.

The original idea of an international tennis tournament in Miami began in the 1960’s, when players toured across the country in a station wagon and played tennis in fairgrounds with a portable court. The first official tournament was held in 1985 with a prize of $1.8 million, and has since grown to a 2023 prize of $13million. The tournament closes with a weekend of finals, and winner for both men’s and women’s matches will be completed by Sunday.
