Exhibition Opening of “Sunshine” Featuring an Artist Talk & Private Dinner at YoungArts

Miami, FL – October 6, 2022 – YoungArts celebrated the exhibition opening of “Sunshine” featuring works by Mark Fleuridor with a public reception and artist talk, followed by a private dinner. Curated by acclaimed artist Derrick Adams and YoungArts Associate Curator Luisa Múnera, the exhibition – on view until December 10, 2022 – is inspired by ancestral lineage and the subtropics. A Miami native, Fleuridor creates layered reconstructions of family, friends, home spaces and tropical plants to arrive at abstracted environments that investigate the cycle of life.

Art enthusiasts, members of the arts community and YoungArts supporters gathered in the YoungArts Gallery for the exhibition opening reception, exploring the works on view and taking the opportunity to meet the artist. In a conversation in the YoungArts Jewel Box, Fleuridor and fellow artist Loni Johnson invited the audience into their respective practices, shared their YoungArts experiences and discussed the importance of mentorship. Invited guests then moved to Ted’s at YoungArts for a intimate seated dinner honoring Mark Fleuridor.
