The night celebrated the best of Miami food & drink with Brugal 1888 craft serves prepared by Casa Florida’s expert mixology team, complemented by exceptional light bites from Chef Niven Patel.
Guests sipped on Casa Florida signature serves such as Guarapitos – crafted with Brugal 1888, Sour AF Lime, Sugar Cane, and Tremendo Lime – and El Brickell – a smooth decadent cocktail of Brugal 1888, Sweet Vermouth, Sherry, Tremendo Dry Orange and Cherry – as Jassil and Brand Ambassador Gabriel Urrutia led them on a true sensory journey to uncover the stories behind this unique, hand-crafted spirit with a Brugal 1888 rum tasting. A selection of tropical-inspired bites by four-time James Beard nominee Chef Niven Patel included shishito peppers with sweet soy, sesame, toasted seaweed and sea salt and white truffle & brie grilled cheese with homestead mango jam on Sullivan Street Pullman Bread. Guests also enjoyed live music and competed in domino tournament where the winners received a branded Brugal 1888 domino set to take home.
Based in Dominican Republic, Jassil Villanueva Quintana is a fifth-generation descendant of Brugal founder Andrés Brugal Montaner. She became the first female Maestra Ronera for the premium rum brand and is currently the industry’s youngest Master of Rum, known for her exceptional understanding of notes and flavors.
