Miami, FL – January 29, 2022 – On Saturday January 29th, Nikki and Michael Simkins hosted a private function at Red Rooster Overtown, further establishing Overtown as a sought-after destination for culture and the arts. The acclaimed restaurant and event space, which opened in 2020, is housed in the former Clyde Killens’ Pool Hall, where legendary entertainers such as Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle and Ella Fitzgerald once performed. The Simkins’ event was attended by influential locals and included a performance by famed rapper Swae Lee that brought down the house.
