Miami Beach, FL – August 13, 2021 – Style Saves, the nonprofit organization in Miami that raises funds to provide underprivileged students and families with the necessities for school, prom, graduation, holiday, disaster relief and more, returned for its 10th annual Back-To-School event on August 14th & 15th at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Thanks to various donations, fundraising and volunteer efforts, the organization outfitted over 10,000 South Florida students from Miami-Dade public schools with essentials for the upcoming school year. Taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, this year the activation was restructured to be contactless in observance of all COVID-19 safety protocols recommended by Miami-Dade County. The convention center instead served as a fulfillment center for the Back-To-School kits. Once the kits were prepared, they were scheduled for pick ups on August 14-15 or shipped out to the individual families, larger organizations, and shelters.
Rachael Russell Saiger, founder of Style Saves and fashion director of Miansai, partnered with board members David and Isabela Grutman, and husband and Miansai founder Michael Saiger, to spearhead this initiative each year. Together, they have helped more than 100,000 students since the Back-To-School program began in 2011.
