Miami, FL – May 21, 2021 – What do you get when you blend the culinary expertise of the author of a Middle Eastern cuisine cookbook, the ‘King of Spices’, a world-renowned Shabbat dish expert, and a multiple-time James Beard Award finalist pastry chef? We’ll tell you what – an Israeli-inspired dinner like no other!

Together, Jake Cohen, author of Jew-Ish: Reinvented Recipes from a Modern Mensch (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, March 2021); Lior Lev Sercarz, the chef behind La Boîte, a destination spice shop in New York, NY; and Adeena Sussman, the best-selling author of Sababa: Fresh, Sunny Flavors From My Israeli Kitchen: A Cookbook (Avery, September 2019) with two cookbooks in collaboration with Chrissy Teigen (the third is already in the works!) served up classic dishes featuring the modern touches that have made them some of the biggest names in modern Israeli cuisine. The trio was joined by Miami’s beloved Queen of Pastries, Hedy Goldsmith, Executive Chef of Verde at the Pérez Art Museum Miami to deliver a menu that delighted guests, all perfectly paired with wines from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio. The night was topped off with delicious Israeli dishes on a sweet note with the pastries and desserts that have made Goldsmith a household name in Magic City. Set in the open-air, waterfront patio of Verde at the Pérez Art Museum Miami with sweeping views of Biscayne Bay, these four seasoned culinary authorities created a balanced dynamic of Middle Eastern plates and decadent pastries and sweets that did not disappoint.
